Sakti da receives National Literacy Award from Govt of India
You all will be glad to know that our Sakti da has received National Literacy Award from the Vice President of India on 8th Sept,2000 for his first-prize winning essay on "Literacy for All".
The national level competitiion was organised by Directorate of Adult Education under Ministry of Human Resources,Govt of India. The award has being given by National Literacy Mission.
There were over 6000 entries for the competition from school teachers all over India and the entries were judged by a panel of 30 judges comprising Vice Chancellors from different Universities of India. And he came First. His article "Slate and Chalk to Progress" has been published in the edition of "The Statesman",dated 5.9.2000,page 9.
This surely makes all of us proud.
** I am attaching with this mail the article "Slate and Chalk to Progress" that appeared in The Statesman on 5th Sept and the article on the award distribution ceremony that appeared in The Statesman on 9th Sept.
